<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The study aims to review modern scientific literature on the use of negative pressure wound therapy for patients with wound infection. Material and methods. A comprehensive review of modern medical literature describing the use of vacuum assisted closure for patients with wound infection is carried out. The databases eLIBRARY.RU, PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Cochrane, Ovid MEDLINE, and Clinical trials.gov are used for the research. The search is carried out using keywords: negative pressure wound therapy, vacuum assisted closure, vacuum therapy. Results. Vacuum assisted closure allows treating effectively purulent-septic diseases, accelerating wound healing, reducing the number of surgical interventions and the length of hospital stay, which makes this method the most promising.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>раневая инфекция</kwd><kwd>вакуумная терапия</kwd><kwd>диабетическая стопа</kwd><kwd>декубитальная язва</kwd><kwd>хронические трофические язвы</kwd><kwd>инфицированная сетка</kwd><kwd>перитонит.</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>wound infection</kwd><kwd>vacuum assisted closure</kwd><kwd>diabetic foot</kwd><kwd>pressure ulcer</kwd><kwd>chronic trophic ulcers</kwd><kwd>infected mesh</kwd><kwd>peritonitis.</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Гельфанд Б.
